Services
Menu Development and Analysis
- Review existing menus and work to meet any special diet needs. Can adjust/streamline current menus or design new ones.
- Menu analysis to ensure appropriate calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins and minerals are included in each meal and each day.
- Work with culinary staff and vendors to choose appropriate items, deal with substitutions and make cost effective decisions.
Medical Nutrition Management
- Provide guidance to staff in working with specific food related issues (diabetes, gluten free, lactose free, renal issues, food allergies and intolerances)
- Act as a liaison between parents, camp medical and general staff and patients home based medical team to help manage nutrition issues related to diabetes, balancing carbohydrate needs, exercise and medication
- Increase offerings of healthy food choices overall
Specialty Diets
- Act as a point person for your camp to oversee all special diets, provide training to staff and in-service as needed.
- Expertise in many areas including Kosher, Vegetarian, ethnic diets
Education
- Act as a liaison with parents and/or camp staff to provide information and assurance of how your camp can benefit their child
- Work with staff to increase knowledge of how to safely implement medically necessary diets as well as increase choices for healthy nutrition,
- Teach healthy cooking classes
- Offer nutrition education to camp staff to maintain healthy lifestyle choices
